About us

Lit by Humanity (LBH) or Voluntary Organisation (how it was known earlier) was founded by Ms. Bindu Puste, Assistant Professor of English, who has been working for visually impaired students from 2015, along with Mr. Gupta and Ms. Srujana Vallapu, a Civil Services Aspirant. 

While Bindu was pursuing her Post Graduate degree at Osmania university for women, she got an opportunity to better understand their the difficulties and day-to-day requirements of visually impaired students. During these days, she involved in activities such as

Reading out to them and recording their notes, which help them with their academics Appeared as scribe for many exams, including UPSC entrance exam Drop off and pick at railway station to and from their hometowns
The more she spent time with them, the more she peeked into their darkness, the more she decided to commit herself to the well-being of the visually impaired students. She developed a deep bond with the VI students, which made the students comfortable enough to request her for assistance, which she gladly accepted. This inspired her mother and other friends too, and before anyone knew it, the wheels of a movement were set in motion. In Nov 2019, she met two other like-minded people Mr. Gupta and Ms. Srujana Vallapu, all working for the same cause. All three joined hands to take forward their life’s mission. They decided to dive in headlong and formed the group called Voluntary Organization or widely known as Team VO. Since they wanted a name to represent the cause, the name Lit by Humanity (LBH) evolved.


Lit by Humanity provides free service for the visually challenged students and other needy across the country.
LBH helps them by providing:
Scribes for writing exams for any kind of examAudio recording of textbooks, newspapers, current affair magazines, notes, assignments, guides, question papers, etc and any other material as need beEveryday audio recording of newspapers such as "The Hindu" in English and Kannada, The Indian Express and Telugu Newspapers Eenadu and SakshiHelp with writing/ typing assignments to be submitted as part of their curriculumGadgets for cause Fulfilling groceries requirements Conducting of Online sessions - Many students are interested in learning varied concepts but are restricted due to lack of resources. LBH creates a platform for students to connect with various experts and learn new concepts. The topics vary from UPSC topics, soft skills, cyber security awareness, Spoken English and many others. Painting for a Cause - An initiative where many talented artists donate their art (Paintings, Sketches etc.,), which we gift to various sponsors, as a token of appreciation. Facilitating and fulfilling blood requirements - Patients are dying every minute due to lack of blood. Many donors though willing to donate are not able to do so due to lack of valid and timely information. In this initiative we are trying to bridge the gap between Donors and patients by connecting them on time so that no person dies due to lack of blood.Creating awareness and sessions on sign language - Teaching basics of sign language for free to volunteers is the objective of this initiativeVisual Assistance - Escort VI students to hospitals or any other places. Supplying medicines and other essentialsVisual Readers Protection for animals
